Dear Rich: Your light clutch symptom sounds like the problem I had with my 79 Mustang. The clutch went light and clutch actuation was different. My brother had the same problem with his 80 Ford Pinto. In his case one could barely feed it any gas before slippage occured. In either case clutch replacement solved the problem. Sorry.
