Over the weekend,  TOMHERB Internet wrote:

TR-7 and TR-8 wheels have the same bolt pattern as Spitfire 
wheels. Some Spitfire vintage racers use these wheels. The wheels 
are 13x5.5 and available in steel (TR-7) and alloy (mostly TR-8). 
The steel wheels are available at most foreign car wrecking yards 
at $15 to $20 apiece. Most Formula Fords use this bolt pattern 
also.

Query - is the offset the same?  It seems to me that even if the
bolt pattern is the same unless the offset is also the same you
will burn up your wheel bearings sooner because of the strain. 
Moreover, if the offset is further out, i.e., closer to the
fender, the 5.5" wheel still may not fit under the rear fender of
an early (or late) Spitfire.  Any comments?  Andy?  Mark?  Anyone?
