I also have a 67TR4a. The frame rotted where the rear trailing arm
bolts on. The repair was to scarf in a new section of 3.5 inch
square tube.
I have a friend, George Haynes, who owns an earlier TR4a. His
frame rotted at the rear lower control arm mount, right side.
His solution was to replace the frame.
Where are you located?
I have heard new frames are available from TRF for about $1000US.
I have seen used used frames offered at Carlisle, but, I can't
remember the asking.
Beware, if you choose to replace the frame, the dreaded shipwright's
disease could easily take hold.
