Are Spit heaters known for their efficiency? My 77 Spit has a heater that
really pumps out the heat, making my leg very uncomfortable after about an
hour's drive, even when it's not turned on and the fan is off. Is this
common among Spits or do I need to replace it? Since I live in Arizona, I
actually need the heat about two days a year, Can I just bypass the heater
alltogether or will that affect the engine cooling? Engine cooling is
critical here and I've heard that the heater core on some cars are actually
designed to facilitate engine cooling. Secondly, would insulation help? My
tranny seems to get awfully hot too. - Sweating it out in Tucson
