Sorry to bomb two lists, but I could really use some advice and don't need
to
limit my audience.
Please don't ask why I did this, just help me out if you can.
I went and sandblasted an exhaust header and while I was at it, did a couple
of extra manifolds too.
Then I coated them with that Eastwood High temperature stainless steel
coating stuff. No problem (yet).
The directions say that the stuff should be cured within one week of
applying
by installing it on the engine and running it. Well there's the problem. I
can install one of them and bake it there under my hood, the others might be
a bit more difficult (seeing how one of them goes to a 6 cylinder TR!)
The directions also say heating at 400 degrees for some amount of time will
also do the trick. However I don't think mom would really like her kitchen
filled with the "noxious fumes" that are produced.
Any ideas where I might go to get these suckers baked commercially? I mean,
don't some paint shops bake their finishes? Or powder coating or something?
It would be nice to find a solution since there is plenty of the stuff left
and it's only good for 6 mos. after opening. I could do a whole batch of
them and have the 4A manifold ready if the header doesn't work out to my
liking. Maybe sell others at swap meets. . .
