In fact I am a Brit ex-pat, and a troble free (well no engine melt downs
anyway) Stag driver for over 8 years. I still have my UK Stag in storage,
I could not bring myself to sell it (too much of my blood in it).
I enjoyed that car so much, that when I came here to work I just had to
find myself a US model.

On my Stag MkII the Tacho has three wires (not including the light).
Black             (spade connecter)  to ground
Green             (spade connecter)  to 12 volts (ignition)
White/Slate(grey) (Bullet connecter) to Dissy points - coil negitive
It picks up the voltage changes on the white/slate wire.
There is no ballast resistor in the tacho circuit.
The Ballast wire is in the supply to the positive side of the coil.

The earlier Stag Tacho had a pass through system whereby the current changes
to the positive side of the coil were detected.

British Auto Specialists in Fort Worth Texas have a parts stag, the vent
or quarter window was still on the car when I saw it.

Only for the UK RHD car, your tray is a mirror image.
But you could try Rimmer Bros in the UK I think they have many US spec parts.

Both of my Stags needed a new top when I got them. But both of my tops came
from English suppliers, and both fit perfectly.
It may be impractical since you have now fitted your US top, but complain
to your US supplier. If it is not fit for the job get them to replace it
or get your money back.
When I order from the UK, I do not have to pay their sales tax (VAT @ 17.5%).
I have to pay shipping, but when the order is over $100 it is still less than
the US price.

Do you have AC on your car (origional or newer compressor)
In the US, where do you get your replacement parts

One thing I don't like doing is getting Oil filters. From US suppliers
they are very expensive, and I get through so many I don't like ordering
them from the UK. What do you do.

I have a long list of parts I need to get for my car. Mostly joints &
suspension parts, Its all original from '73 and very worn out.
If any one can point me to a competitive US supplier!
