Seriously, I've heard of repairs to just about everything, even cracked
engine blocks. It *is* only metal after all and you should be able to
fix it. It probably won't be cheap tho. Have you talked to a competent
machine shop? Try to find one that has experience (if not specializes)
in head work.
As Bob Bownes says; "You can make any problem go away if you throw
enough money at it."
