RE>>Colour tune 4/12/95
Colortune is a "glass" spark plus with added hardware. You install it in place
of one of your regular spark plugs, and with a tube and mirrored piece of
plastic, you can see the color of a cylinders' combustion. Yellow is too rich,
Blue is just right, and I forget what is too lean. (Basically the ratio of
fuel to air dictates the flame temperature, and you want the cleanest and
hottest flame (blue). There are warnings on how long you should run your
engine w/one in place (its been years since I lost mine. How long do most of
you consider "max" time running w/ colortune in place)
So rather develop that carb tuners feel based on exhaust note, rhythm, and
smell, use a colortune! Befuddle yourself even more with why won't your carb
do what you want it to! Amaze your friends!

I feel like I'm asking a Catholic Congregation "Who was this Jesus guy
anyways?", and I make no apologies for my newbieness (?) to LBC's, only for
taking up bandwidth with this, but what exactly *is* ColourTune, and how is
it used?
All I can gather is that it's a mixture tuning device. My Haynes doesn't
comment on it, and, hey, this is the place to learn, isn't it?
Thanks in advance.
