If memory serves, when the differential itself has 7/16 inch threads and the
ring gear is machined with 1/2 inch diameter holes there are two options:
Use a stepped ring gear bolt that has a grip (unthreaded portion of the shank)
of 1/2 inch with 7/16 thread such as ARP 350-3004
Use a bolt that is fully 7/16 inch in which case 1/2 to 7/16 ring gear bolt
sleeves are used such as Yukon gear YSPBLT-028.
Neither is needed if both the ring gear and differential are machined/threaded
for the same diameter.
