There is some truth to the hammer on the firewall.=C2=A0=C2=A0 I can tell =
you that the Shelby Prototype Tiger still has the indented hammer marks in =
the firewall from when it went back to Shelby to get a 289 installed.=C2=A0=
=C2=A0 I can also tell you George Boskoff hated that modification and told =
me I needed to fix it before taking the car to Tigers United.=C2=A0=C2=A0 H=
e didn't want anyone thinking that it was him making that modification as h=
e would have done it with a little more finesse.

When one considers the hinge is chrome, not body color it stands to=20
reason that the body and trunk (boot) were painted and then the three=20
pieces assembled. IF..., in fact the stud is painted at the factory it=20
might be that the topside was painted, the hinge attached by the stud=20
only and then hung to paint the underside. Just a guess but at least a=20
possibility (not trying to create a big hammer on the firewall urban=20
legend here).
