The Tiger generator pulley is standard Ford C2OF-10130-A, the Tiger mountin=

to redo the mounts if that is the case to get the belt aligned.=C2=A0I=E2=
=80=99ve been through this dilemma on Tigers and other old Fords with gener=
ators. They were marginal when five grand was the upper rev limit, today mo=
st modern engine rebuilds are good for 6500 or more. Mechanically the gener=
ator is not really designed to spin at high speeds very long (Tigers run ar=
ound 3K at 70), the bearings will overheat and spall, the brushes float and=
arc, the commutator breaks down, and then really ugly things begin to happ=
en. Going to the Hi-Po larger pulley helps but you now have a lack of curre=
nt at lower speeds from a 25% or so reduction in rpm. The combination of yo=
ur headlamps, tail lamps, gauges, fuel pump, and ignition will consume arou=
nd 270 watts, that=E2=80=99s 20 amps at 13.5 volts, and the generators I=E2=
=80=99ve had rebuilt might pump out 25 amps on a good day at max rpm, but a=
t cruising speeds you=E2=80=99re lucky to get half that. Add a GPS, cooling=
fan or other accessory and you will run out of juice.=C2=A0So what=E2=80=
=99s the option? Obviously an alternator is the way to go, even under-drive=
n they put out three times the current. But they look so modern. As an alte=
rnative I have now installed three PowerGen alternators that look just like=
the generator. They can generate over 30 amps at idle and are good for 700=

font-size:11.0pt;">I=E2=80=99ve been through this dilemma on Tigers and oth=
er old Fords with generators. They were marginal when five grand was the up=
per rev limit, today most modern engine rebuilds are good for 6500 or more.=
Mechanically the generator is not really designed to spin at high speeds v=
ery long (Tigers run around 3K at 70), the bearings will overheat and spall=
, the brushes float and arc, the commutator breaks down, and then really ug=
ly things begin to happen. Going to the Hi-Po larger pulley helps but you n=
ow have a lack of current at lower speeds from a 25% or so reduction in rpm=
. The combination of your headlamps, tail lamps, gauges, fuel pump, and ign=
ition will consume around 270 watts, that=E2=80=99s 20 amps at 13.5 volts, =
and the generators I=E2=80=99ve had rebuilt might pump out 25 amps on a goo=
d day at max rpm, but at cruising speeds you=E2=80=99re lucky to get half t=
hat. Add a GPS, cooling fan or other accessory and you will run out of juic=
e.</span><span style=3D"color:black;"></span></div><div class=3D"yiv7591505=

le=3D"font-size:11.0pt;">So what=E2=80=99s the option? Obviously an alterna=
tor is the way to go, even under-driven they put out three times the curren=
t. But they look so modern. As an alternative I have now installed three Po=
werGen alternators that look just like the generator. They can generate ove=
r 30 amps at idle and are good for 7000 rpm engines. They ain=E2=80=99t che=
ap but they look just like the OEM generator. They make a one-wire and a tw=
o-wire version, the Tiger offset pulley bolts right up.</span><span style=
