When I bought the car (a LONG time ago) I didn't like the Ford shifter, but
I really don't remember why. The Hurst I bought to replace it has a short
straight stick (no bend), it shifted quickly and never gave me problems.
I found the original Ford shifter in a box; there's a guy in Maryland who
rebuilds them. Once the car is back to running condition and all the bugs
are worked out I plan to have the Ford shifter redone. I'll give it another
try.
