I have a 'plain jane' F4B around here somewhere... and it has 'american'
threads for the sender...and one large plenum hole.
I have 'heard' that the genuine LAT option manifold had 4 holes under the
carb... True...??

If you have an F4B that is NOT the one sold as a LAT option, the temp
sender threads a for American senders, and the LAT uses threads to match
the original English sender threads. If you take that manifold to a
machinist, that can also heli-arc weld aluminum, you can get the
original hole filled with aluminum, and new threads to match your
original sender machined in.
