I always just use the formula for volume of a cylinder (pi times radius
squared times height) times number of cylinders.
pi is approx. 3.14, radius is half of bore, height is stroke. To many math
classes I guess.

Sandy,
Here is an "online" displacement table relating bore and stroke to CID.
http://www.pawengineparts.com/charts/Conversion_Chart_CI.html<http://www.pa
wengineparts.com/charts/Conversion_Chart_CI.html>
Here is the calculation formula for this table:
/"Bore x Bore x Stroke X .7854 x Number of cylinders. For example: A460,
Ford, .030 will be: 4.390 x 4.390 x 3.850 x .7854 x 8 = 466.19." "Bore
x Bore" is shorthand for Bore Squared.
/
You will have to use the formula if your stroke is below 3.00 inches, or
above 4.5 inches, or your bore is less than 3.76 inches or larger than
4.5625 inches. Same for steps between those on the table.
Hey, it's free.
Lowest CID tabled is 263 CID.
Now, if you have Excel, as you do (Sandy) this equation can be used to
create exact numbers for for alternate choices.
