Mark, Ceramics are in general very poor heat conductors. Witness the
handle on your coffee mug or the tiles on a space shuttle. The ceramic
coating also changes the emissivity of the header, which reduces the
radiated energy as well.

Bugz,
I'm still confused too. In your example the foam insulation is a pretty
poor conductor of heat so I can see that working, but to me ceramic
conducts heat pretty well.
