Buy a bunch of storage containers in various sizes, ranging from sandwich
size to something big enough to drop the driveshaft into. Put everything
into an appropriate sized container (think about its total weight, not just
whether or not it will fit in there) and keep a list on the front of each
box with the contents. Use a digital camera to take a picture of something
before you disassemble it or remove it from the car, and store all of that
on your computer - keep a backup on CD just in case, I suppose. Label all
parts and either keep fasteners screwed into what they attach to, or else
put them in a labeled container.
Engine rebuilding specs depend totally on what you plan to do with the car
afterward... The cost will consume your budget, plus about 20 percent more.
