I do believe the correct battery is a Lucas size 27F. The F indicating a Ford application so the negative post is on the correct end. 27's are about the biggest common battery you can get. 24's will do. I think Rootes was worried about getting enough juice to the starter via the world's longest battery cable. Dave Johnson |
