Make sure your design will fit in the speedometer, too.  It would look really 
weird to have one bright and the other dim.  

I was reminded of how bad the tach and speedo lighting was when I drove my 
Tiger home from work last week, just after the time change. I replaced all the 
bulbs a few years back, and the smaller gauges are OK.  But I could hardly read 
the two big ones.  I'll be interested in your design.
