Behalf Of drmayf; When WAS the last time anyone actually had a clutch blow? When I bought my MKI six years ago, I thought I was getting a stock drive train set up. When working on it, I found a fiberglass patch on the passenger side tranny tunnel that was used to repair a clutch explosion. It so distorted the tunnel that the false floor had to be greatly modified to refit when the car was restored recently. the PO had learned his lesson though and had a Lakewood behind what turned out to be a six bolt 289.
