According to Uncle Wally, Curt etc are corect. If you ordered a Tiger
or Alpine from Rootes and opted for a hardtop they would paint it
body color. Otherwise he said they were black. If fact he said in
1966 and 1967 black hardtops were shipped on many cars to
avoid the extra cost of shipping a hardtop alone. As many of us
know the safest way to ship a hardtop, is on a car.
The distributor (Unlce Wally) would have the hardtops removed and
put into inventory unless it was ordered. He also said all the cars
came with the outside mirrors tucked next to the seat to avoid
getting the knocked off.
