Hey Steve,

So right, the tire specs are sooooo important.... the diameter, the cross
section, etc.  This is where the magic if the Internet come into play and
almost completes the information.  For example the 205-50-15 Hoosier,
BFG-R1, Yokohama and Proxus have all different specs.  Then, there are tires
that have the same specs but have different shoulders (where the side wall
meets the tread).  AUGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!

It's certainly not an exact science, is it?
