Did the math. See annotation to your numbers.
A respectable 0.06 EXTRA horsepower per cubic inch. Should get even
more, per cubic inch, with aluminum head, good ports, bigger valves,
better cam (like the hipo 289 was 271 HP).
In my day, 1 horsepower per cubic inch was really something. 260 HP 260
CID would be an example. Small engines could do this readily. A 72
cubic inch engine (1500 cc) could easily get 72 HP, and 100 HP with some
TLC and $$$$. in the 50's. (BTDT) Of course the smaller ones responded
easier.
