Oil Filter Problem

Hello-I'm trying to change the oil filter for the first time on my new Tiger 
and I'm having a problem loosening the top nuts.  My car still has the 
original oil filter set up.  Can someone give me the exact sizes of the 
wrenches?  
Are they American or Metric?  I just sprayed some WD40 on the nuts to try to 
help loosen the nuts.  Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to solve this 
problem?
