OK, I admit it, I'm a newbie to the list. I'll try not to be too stupid.
Here's my question: I just got a '66 Mk1A. I made my living working on
British
cars back in the '60's, but have been away from them for quite a while. My
wiper motor is acting funny. When driving at highway speeds, the air gradually
raises the wiper arms and eventually the motor advances one cycle (or more on
a wet windshield), obviously because the limit switch want to re-park the
arms. I adjusted the switch, paying close attention to the location of the
dimple and have tried several settings, but it still does it. I did notice
that
wipers don't creep up at all if the power is totally disconnected (unplug the
ground wire), so it's not just the wind causing it to creep. I can rip the
whole thing apart, but was curious if anyone was familiar with the problem and
knew the solution already. Thanks for any help.
