Bob,

Sure, it is okay to post. Yes, I would like to hear the results. Tigers, as
with Cobras, are not American production cars, hence things tend to be a
bit more varied as the idea was to sell, not be consistent for us nuts 35
years later!

Ford advocated 289 HiPo heads as an upgrade for the 260 V8 in high
performance applications. Check out the ad on the page opposite J-80 in my
book. You will see the HiPo head as part of kits for the 221, 260, and 289
-- or the head & valve kit could be bought separately. Tigers with 260 V8s
could have gotten the 289 HiPo heads -- however, these kits used production
parts, so the C4OE-B head would have the "289" marking and large chamber if
purchased in the correct timeframe.

I have also found that some people do not know a
recessed-valve-spring-pocket head from one without. For those of us who
have looked at them and know, the difference is obvious, but for others
they look the same -- like all Tigers look the same to me, but probably not
to you.

Bob
