Folks,
I met Wally in the 70's a few times at autocrosses in Maryland
and Virginia. He was one very nice guy and an expert autocrosser with his
Alpine.
As I recall he had a second sway bar clamped to the original with
a bunch of hose clamps. He could beat me in my Tiger II (at that time
it had a BOSS 302 in it) by several seconds every time. Wally drove
my Tiger at one autocross at the NSA parking lot and almost made me stop
autocrossing due to his excellent time. I couldn't even come close. He
didn't autocross his red Tiger in those days. I saw his Tiger in his garage
and it was perfect. He let me drive his Alpine and I was only about 20 percent
slower than he was. I will always remember Wally.
