I believe the applications for 260/early 289 is the #1680. Later 289s use
the #1681. They are not interchangeable units. The #1680 has an impeller
endplate added while the #1681 gets the full Mirakooler impeller.
FlowKooler was careful to point out that their products should not be
mistaken for racing pumps. Racing pumps are designed to produce high output
at high revs to handle high heat and power loads. FlowKooler's superior
performance is at low revs for dealing with heavy traffic, low air flow
situations. Essentially, FlowKooler and high capacity "racing" pumps are
designed to solve problems at opposite ends of the tachometer face.
