After taking well over an hour to fabricate and install a fix for my lawn
mower last weekend, I realized that the repair would have taken about 5
minutes if I was set up for welding. Might prove handy on the Tiger, too.
So I'm looking for some wisdom here. I'm thinking arc welding, so I won't
have to worry about refilling tanks, etc. I'm not thinking of welding
suspension parts or anything really heavy. Just sheet metal, and the
occasional bracket.
Looking in a few catalogs, it looks like I could get a reasonable set up for a
couple hundred dollars new, but I'm not sure what I need. I'll probably just
watch for something to turn up in the local want ads once I figure out my
needs.
The question is, for my anticipated use, what sort of features, Amps, or
whatever, should I be looking for?
