I really don't think that the temperature of the coolant in our surge tanks is at all close to the temperature of the coolant leaving the gooseneck. There in no continuous flow in and out of the tank, coolant is just flowing by the inlet. So the coolant in the tank probably is closer to air temo in the engine compartment. Plus, a $7 meat thermometer is not going to be half as acurate as our Lucas gauges. Stu |
