in my powerglide post some people wondered why the auto, well tem minutes ago
i removed the centerforce dual friction clutch from my mustang. it had 1000
miles on it and about 20 passes at the strip before it started to slip and
vibrating.
well i unbolted the tranny from the bellhousing and tried to pull it but it
would not come. after a hour of fighting it finally came out. the bearing
retainer
was busted to pieces! i then removed the bellhousing to inspect it. the housing
was fine. next i removed the pressure plate to find that the side of the clutch
that face the flywheel was half gone. no not wore down to half, one side of
it was gone! the total damage is a trashed world class t5, trashed billet
flywheel,
trashed centerforce dual friction clutch set. i hope the bearings in my engine
are ok.
