Tym, I've had the 302/T-5 setup for a while now, and the synth ATF
(brain fade today, I think that's what's in there) is low enough in
viscosity that it was weeping through the windings of the plastic covering
for the cable housing. I took the cable to a speedo shop nearby, and had a
new -- 6" longer -- cable made up, using a "modern" solid (no "windings")
sheath. Maybe 10 minutes and 20 dollars, I could check on the exact price if
I could find the receipt. That and some Permatex (copper) around the fitting
that goes in the tranny, and no more leaks. I think I'm running a 16T gear,
as I recall the 15T (??) is no longer available, and have no idea on
accuracy, and I need a speedo rebuild anyhow, I don't trust the readings I
see.
