That sounds exactly the same as what happened to my Tiger, five days
after I purchased it. My car had a McCleod performance clutch. The clutch
would almost disengage, and the pedel was very low. I checked the length of
the rod from the slave cylinder to the clutch fork, and it was too short,
even at maximum length of adjustment. I made a new longer rod, and it still
would not quite disengage. It turned out one of the three actuating fingers
on the pressure plate fractured and failed. Out came the engine...
