It was today (Sunday) - the British Car Show at Nantua in eastern
France. After having had a good clean yesterday, we took the Tiger,
following back roads in the sunshine, deserted - except for about
20,000 French motorbikes.
Surprise surprise! There was a black Series IV Alpine from close to
where I live. Another surprise was a yellow Tiger - a mechanic who has
done some work on my car brought it (B9473625) - its first outing since
restoration, which is not yet finished! The car has been fitted with
bonnet louvres, and lacks interior trim, grill, bumpers and a few other
bits and pieces. It also boasts a new or reconditioned 302 engine.
Back amongst the TR3As and a million Minis was a rough-looking Tiger,
with flared wheel arches and wide wheels. Its registration indicated it
was from the Lyon area. I hung around it a few times, but no-one rocked
up, so I was unable to obtain any further information.
Anyway, a most enjoyable day. We didn't stay for the prizes, but
enjoyed a casual run back, again avoiding main roads.
