For those busy little minds, inquiring into other peoples ‘business’:

In the practice of bargaining merchants in England, and
elsewhere, when price haggling is involved, the lowest price
that allows a suitable profit is coded on the merchandise. In
this case, the price is cleverly disguised by writing it
backwards. I.E., the price should have been a minimum of $43.02.

Of course, this would be in Shillings and Pence, if it were
reproduced in England, being 20 Schillings and 34 Pence, or if
original equipment 34 Guineas, 2 half-pennies.
