Folks,
Finally received the Fuel Safe custom fuel cell.
Looks real good. Fuel Safe called a couple of weeks ago
about a minor detail. Said they hoped to ship on the 12th.
Well, last thursday it still wasn't here so I called and they
said it was shipped UPS on the 12th and still in "transit".
About an hour later it arrived. I guess you can take Fuel
Safe at their word except they did not include a FIA certification.
Spent Friday and Saturday removing the old fuel
tanks and and fabricating a fenderwell mount for my battery.
I am using a marine battery box for the battery so I have to
have room to take the battery box top off. At the same time
I plan to use the existing fender mounted fuel filler, plumed
to the fuel cell. Found that the trunk lift spring had to
go to get the clearance I needed for the 2 1/2" filler pipe
and the battery Box.
Mounted the fuel cell Sunday and still have to work
the 1" vent line. Got the parts tonight for that. Still
need an AN-6 adapter hose for the fuel line.
I am taking photos of each step so when I am done
I will be able to scan them in and provide a write up.
The tank weighs 22.75 pounds and should hold around
20 gallons.
I also added a complete firewall between the trunk
and the inside.
