I really don't know how difficult the Getrag or Toyota transmissions would
be but I have to think that it will be worse than a T-5.  There are quite
a few T-5 Tigers running around so there is a pretty good knowledge
base of what needs to be done.

I think that it really depends on your engine and intended use.
If you have a big cam or plan to go roadracing the Mustang T-5
ratios are not for you.  For a street driven car with a torquey engine
I think that they work pretty well.

I have a fairly stock 5.0L and the Mustang T-5 and the stock 2.88s.
For a street car it works well!  No bog off the line and 4 gears for performance
driving.  5th is definitely for cruse mode only, if you want V8 acceleration
you need to down shift.  I don't think this is much of a sacrifice since 4th is
good for well over 130 on a 5.0L.  The one thing I like about 5th is how
quiet the car is cruising.  I ran 3000 to 3500 for 8 years, 2000 to 2300 is
a nice option and 4th is always available for acceleration and nostalgia.
