Chris,
I do not believe this is correct. A line drawn from the right front of the pair
of outside mount holes to the left rear outside mount holes, and vice versa, of
those pair in the center of the manifold show that the carb is the same as the
plain Performer. I believe it is in the same place as the F4B. None of these
will take the extra long 715 original design, with the castings coming out from
the float bowls, but those are not any good for your car, not available, and not
the one you probably had in mind, anyway.
On a different note, since both fit, I personally, think the center mount float
bowl part is nice, but the vacuum secondaries are more drivable.
You can have both. I believe you can use dial feed center mount float bowls and
metering on a vacuum secondary, but probably at additional cost.
Edelbrock Tech Support is 310-782-2900, 8A-12:30;, 1:30 -5 pm weekdays (Pacific
Time). Ask for their Ford expert, he has the F4b dimensions. Although I didn't
specifically ask about the carb placement, when I was getting the F4B, the other
dimensions were nearly identical, just better flow layout.
