Hello Sunbeamers:
Now that I'm about to get my Alpine back after a serious injection of
money, the discussion of hoods popping open reminds me that I have a
similar problem, but at the other end of the car. My trunk keeps popping
open.
I have tried adjusting the latch every which way, and have adjusted the
trunk lid a couple of times. I'll have the problem "fixed" for a while,
and then it starts popping open again. The latch is slightly bent, so
maybe it's not in proper alignment.A problem is nothing I can do
(shaking the car, bouncing it, etc.) gets the trunk to pop while the car
isn't moving. When it usually happens is when I'm driving down the
freeway at 60-70 MPH.
Also, the trunk lock is not locking properly, and I've got to "spin" it
a few times to get it just right to get it to lock.
Any solutions on these problems out there?
