I had the same problem with the cross member bolts lining
up until I realized that the weight of the engine had spread
the frame ever so slightly. Using a floor jack and a 2x10
to spread the weight, I supported the engine, loosened the
engine mounts, and then lifted the engine about 1/8 to 1/4
inch. Eureka, the cross member bolts now all lined up.
Torgue the bolts, retighten the engine mounts, and lower
the jack.
I have a few super secret swear words that seem to work
wonders when all else fails.
