We've been having Concours and Autocrosses at Tiger events for a lot of
years now. There has always been some level of unhappiness and it's tough
to get it right and satisfy everybody. By nature, many many Tiger owners
are competitive in one way or another. If a lot of people want additional
classes, they can certainly be developed. Alternatively, to add a class
for a single car or a very small number of cars adds cost and complexity
with little or no benefit.
Inexpensive (cheap) trophies are not the primary reason that owners spend
thousands of dollars in restoring and or modifying these great little cars,
whether they are "special" factory cars or simply their own favorites.
Getting together with like-minded friends for a little friendly competition
is a powerful draw. All hands are not dealt equally, but it hasn't seemed
to stop interested owners from participating at a level they can feel
comfortable with.
