What colors were the walls when other test engines blew up for whatever
reason? Ours were "North American Aviation Green". Said so right on
the paint cans. Everything was painted this color. And this was before
we blew anything up.
Boeing had the same color on their walls, but there cans read "Boeing
Green".
Having visited over 40 defense industry plants, I can't remember any
that didn't use that same color. Customized by can lableing, of course.
Now, in the rocket biz, when we blew one up near the concrete test stand
walls, if there were any left, they were a bright glassy green. In
fact, it was green glass, from the heat.
