The windshields in my motorhome have come loose more times than I care to
remember.  I reset one of them myself and in the process I painted the edge
of the windshield with the primer used to assist bonding of the butyl strip.
Its now about 6 years later and that windshield is perfect while its mate on
the other side, which was not painted,  has turned white in the corners.
The product I used was 3M "window weld primer" part no 51135-08643.

That's only one data point but the windshield in my Tiger has started to
delaminate and I certainly regret not painting it--------sure will next
time.
