I think you've got it right. One of the joys of owning an older sports car,
particularly one as unique as the Tiger, is having fun with other like minded
souls, i.e. joining a club. I wonder how many of the newer Tiger owners have
had their initial impressions of Tiger clubs formed by reading posts on this
list? I was somewhat fortunate in that when I started my involvement with
STOA, the internet was non-existent (not exactly, I guess they were using it
in the military or something). My initial exposure to STOA, Pacific Tigers,
CAT etc. was entirely real, not virtually real. As a result, I have gotten to
know many Tiger owners on a personal level and this includes some who have a
propensity to talk s--t on this list. Even the most opinionated can be
friends, when you KNOW them. It is very sad if, because of this "open forum",
Tiger enthusiasts are becoming alienated from the mutual enjoyment of Tiger
oriented activity. Will it lead to the demise of the Tiger as a collectible
auto and generally awesome toy? I doubt it, the car's are just too much fun.
