* Amazing that the same guys spooked by the performance of the Tiger 34
_years_ ago would still be determining classifications for the SCCA today;
these guys must be _old_! (No need to comment, Steve). Or is there some
kind of blacklist handed down from generation to generation, saying, in
effect, "never give a Tiger an even chance". Hey, I don't rave in SCCA, nor
anywhere else; but rulemakers everywhere scare me a bit. I guess I'm a
closet anarchist or something.
* I'm certainly using the Delete key a lot these days; just cannot come to
grips with the event-management thread. I'm offering to help out at the
TE/AE event in October, going to keep an eye out. Evidence of the "cannot
work and play well with others" syndrome will ensure that I'll never accept
a _responsible_ role in future events. This is supposed to be fun, if it
isn't I'll take up fly-fishing or something instead.
I'd be surprised if all haven't come down on one side or the other, or
I-don't-care, by now. Isn't there a List for event-management, like on
team.net or something, where guidance can be sought and/or these issues can
be hammered out? Not that the use of bandwidth is a big deal to me (14 of
the past 19 messages), but I'm seeing a groundswell of "enough already",
but no resolution of the "problems". BTW, I happen to know a professional
mediator, a Mr. Weldon Kludge...
* According to Webster's unabridged, "concourse" is a place, "concours" is
an event. "Concours" is Chevy Nova with an ugly grille.
* Home events slowing the brake work, seven days of rain forecasted mean I
won't be testing them soon anyways. The rear shoes I took off were
different, leading vs trailing.; the new ones were all-the-same, but they
seem to fit. New seal in RF caliper, actually it looks like a plain old
flat rubber washer to me, no leaks yet. BTW, with the braided lines, ain't
no way a golf tee fits in the end of the hose. A Shreader cap does sorta
fit. Best way of dealing w/brakes: drain the whole d*mn system, fix brakes,
then refill. Much less cussing that way.
* Last night my baby brother brought me some belated birthday presents,
including "the Ultimate Classic Car Book". One page on Tigers, including
production figures: 6469 MK1's, 6083 Mk2's.
Somewhat more than I've always been led to believe...
Maybe they're counting all the Algers, and not-really-Tiger racing cars?
* AAARRRRGH! Got my C&S mag for July, saw a Watkins Glen commemorative
necktie featuring an Allard, the 3rd one w/an Allard and no Tiger tie yet!
That reminds me, gotta call Triple-C again. Well, at least I have my Tiger
undershorts (well, at least they have stripes). :-)
