As far as I know, if your engine is already broken in, there is no need
for a lead additive. Lead is necessary during the break-in process to
allow valves to seat properly. As to performance, as long as your Tiger
gets the right octane rating in the gas (either via lead or other means)
there should be no performance degradation when you switch to unleaded.

Depends on the valves and seats. Most engines have induction hardened valve
seat that will take the swill being passed off as gasoline these days without
damage. Some older engines will experience MARKED valve recession.
One study recently claims that the oxygenated gas produces more wear in older
engines even beyond that which might be expected. In addition, the
oxygenated stuff is alleged to produce more pollution.
