Beware, many are of the opinion that the seat inserts are a greater
liability than the possibility of valve seat recession. The seats can fall
out and really ruin the day for your motor. Anecdotal information seems to
suggest that most old Ford owners have little problem with valve seat
recession without hardened seats except for in extreme duty applications
like tow mules.
