Not sure "asbestos" was the material used in the E-type, as the
carcinogen suits were in full swing. It was probably a
not-quite-so-good, but less deadly, fiberglass. No matter which,
however, I'd stay away from asbestos. The header wrap material is pretty
good, and should do the trick, even if applied locally.
