Re: the uproar (sic) concerning modifications to "original" Tigers -
I agree that true original cars should be left unchanged for posterity;
however, imagine if this had been an issue years ago ...
1) "Sorry, Carrol, but the AC is a great car as it is, so don't go messing with
it."
2) (Overheard in Lord Rootes' office): "They did WHAT to an Alpine???"
And to address concerns over the use of PW in 'performance' cars, let's not
forget
that C. Chapman designed the original Lotus Elan with PW because they were
lighter
and simpler than manual ones ...
