May I provide some light on the 260, 289 question?

And some 70-74 were C8TE-B

Page 19 of "Performance Tuning Sunbeam Tiger" by Floyd Clymer 1967
states, "Most Tigers are coming out with 289 blocks bored to 260's 3.8
bore."

The way to determine what you have is to pull the head and measure the bore.
If it has not been rebuilt and the bore is 3.80 in. Then you have a 260
cubic inch
motor. Look for the casting numbers above for more info.
Also the "standard" 260 block has a rounded "W" shape across the top
of the block between the bores. The "289" block is flat in that area. This
difference in shape requires that you use a standard Ford 260 head gaskets
in place of the thin .030 steel head gaskets (for 289) when changing the
heads from
the 260 heads to the 289, 302 or 351W heads.

The old 260 heads had an open chamber sort of "D" shaped. The 289
had the
area around the sparkplug closed in so it sort of looks like an "8". I
believe they are both about 54.5 CC.

The 260 head castings were: C2OE-F, C3OE-B for 62-63 and C4OE-B for 64.
The 62-63 260 had 1.59 intakes and 1.45 exhaust valves.
The 64 260 and all of the 289s had 1.67/ 1.45 valves. (Except for the HP289
for 64-67 which had 1.78/1.45 valves just like the 68-80 302s.
The 68-80 302 heads ranged from 53.5 CC to 69 CC.
The 289 head castings were: C3AE-F, C3OE-E, F, C4AE-C for 63-64.
The 289 head castings for 65 to 67 ran from C5 to C7.
The 68 289 was C8OE-D, L, M where the chamber went to 63 CC.
The HP289 in 63 had a 49.2 CC head C3OE with screw in studs.
The 64 to 67 HP289 had the 54.5 CC heads with screw in studs.

                       Happy Head Bolts.

67 289).
