Seeing as how I have a smog test coming up, I was figuring it is our
obligation to be sure that our cars run as clean as possible to protect
the environment. So, does anyone have any ideas of how to best adjust a
car to make it run cleaner?
I was once told that one should retard the spark. How does this help?
What about different hotter or colder spark plugs? Different gaps on the
plugs? Points? Or if the car is tuned to perform the best, is it also
burning off the most so running the cleanest? Or is burning off the most
also creating more fumes?
What about the air cleaner? Should it be as clean and open as possible,
or is a little more restriction better?
How about thicker oil that might not get past the rings to burn out
through the tail pipe?
Like I said as car enthusiasts, it is our duty to figure out how to
make our cars run clean.
